Fintech: the future of financial services

Abstract:
The development of information and communication technologies has driven the provision of more efficient, quicker, and more personalised financial services. Indeed, fintech companies, usually startups with substantial technological content, have become the greatest competitors for traditional financial institutions, which have started to invest in this kind of companies to accelerate their digital conversion.
This article aims to analyse the functioning of these technologies and their emerging regulation. It also analyses their possible evolution and potential recommendations from regulators, as well as measures that could allow their development within a legal framework that guarantees the rendering of efficient and secure financial services through new information technologies.
